WE GOT YOU COVERED

FAQS AND TOUR DETAILS

WHERE DOES THE TOUR START AND END?

Your adventure begins and ends at Dylan’s Tours Shop, located at 782 Columbus Avenue in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood also known as Little Italy. This area is full of local cafés, restaurants, and bakeries, making it a great spot to grab a coffee before your ride or unwind after the tour.

We’ll start with a quick orientation and e-bike fitting to make sure everyone is comfortable and confident before we roll out. When the tour ends around 2:00 PM, you’ll be right back in the heart of North Beach.

HOW LONG IS THE TOUR?

The Original City Loop runs from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, giving you roughly five hours of riding, sightseeing, photo stops, and a relaxing lunch break. This schedule is designed to let you see the very best of San Francisco without feeling rushed. We keep the pace easy and fun, with time to enjoy each location.

IS THE TOUR DIFFICULT?

Not at all! Our Rad Power electric bikes make riding through San Francisco a breeze. With smooth pedal assist and multiple power settings, you can decide how much or how little effort you want to put in. The route is designed for comfort and enjoyment, not endurance so even the city’s famous hills are easy to conquer.

If you can comfortably ride a standard bike, you’ll be more than ready for this tour.

IS THE TOUR SAFE?

Yes, safety is our top priority. Every ride begins with a thorough safety briefing and e-bike orientation so everyone feels confident before setting out. Our guides are trained professionals who monitor the group’s comfort and pace throughout the tour.

Helmets are provided (and required), and we stick to bike-friendly streets, scenic paths, and designated lanes whenever possible. Our bikes are also equipped with front and rear lights, bells, and mirrors for added safety and visibility.

WILL THERE BE STOPS FOR PHOTOS OR BREAKS?

Yes, plenty! The beauty of this tour is the flexibility to stop often for photos, rest, and to take in the views. Some of our favorite photo stops include:

  • The Golden Gate Bridge overlook (with time to ride along the bridge)
  • Golden Gate Park’s lakes and gardens
  • Haight Ashbury lunch break
  • The colorful Painted Ladies and the city skyline
  • The Palace of Fine Arts, one of SF’s most stunning landmarks
  • Scenic viewpoints in Pacific Heights and the Marina District

Your guide will also share local tips, fun facts, and help take photos for you at each stop.

IS THERE A LUNCH BREAK?

Yes! Around midday, we’ll take a lunch break in the Haight Ashbury where you will have plenty of dining option to choose from. Your guide will give you plenty of recommendations.

WHERE CAN I PARK FOR THE TOUR?

If you’re driving, we recommend parking at the North Beach Parking Garage (735 Vallejo St., just a 5-minute walk from our shop). Metered street parking is also available in the neighborhood but can be limited during peak times.

Arrive about 15–20 minutes early to check in, get fitted for your e-bike, and start the tour right on schedule.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

San Francisco weather is famously unpredictable, so we suggest dressing in layers. Morning rides can start cool and foggy, then warm up by midday. Closed-toe shoes are required for safety, and we recommend lightweight, comfortable clothing you can move easily in.
Helmets are provided (and required), and we also offer gloves and handlebar bags for small personal items. Don’t forget sunglasses, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle — we have refill stations along the way.

ARE BATHROOMS AVAILABLE DURING THE TOUR?

Yes. We plan scheduled stops along the route where public restrooms are available, such as in Golden Gate Park or near major landmarks. Your guide will always let the group know when the next restroom stop is coming up.

CAN KIDS COME ALONG? WHAT ARE THE AGE REQUIREMENTS?

Unfortunately for our guided bike tour everyone must be 13 years or older to ride our electric bikes

Riders under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
If you’re traveling with younger children, please reach out — we can suggest alternative family-friendly options or private setups.

WHAT KINDS OF ELECTRIC BIKES DO YOU HAVE? ARE THEY EASY TO RIDE?

We use Rad Power Bikes, known for being some of the most reliable and comfortable e-bikes on the market. These premium pedal-assist bikes are powerful, lightweight, and built for city riding. Each bike features multiple assist levels, smooth hand brakes, and a comfortable upright position for great visibility and balance — perfect for navigating San Francisco’s hills and views.

Even if it’s your first time on an e-bike, don’t worry — our guides will walk you through everything during a short pre-ride orientation, and most guests are cruising confidently within minutes.

HEIGHT, WEIGHT, AND RIDER REQUIREMENTS

Our Rad Power e-bikes fit riders approximately 5’0” to 6’5” tall and up to 275 lbs (125 kg). Riders should be comfortable balancing and steering a standard bicycle. Helmets are provided and required for all participants, and we recommend wearing closed-toe shoes for safety.

CAN I ADD OTHER EXPERIENCES TO MY DAY?

Absolutely. Many guests turn the City Loop into a full-day San Francisco experience. You can:

  • Add on a Muir Woods Shuttle to explore the redwoods after your ride.
  • Book the official Alcatraz Experience for later in the afternoon or the following day.
  • Or keep the fun rolling with The Lombard Leap — a short open-air ride down the world-famous Lombard Street and through hidden corners of the city.

Add-ons can be selected during checkout or by contacting our team after booking.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

We understand plans can change. We offer a 100% refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled tour.

If weather conditions or city events require a route adjustment, we’ll always communicate in advance and ensure you still have an amazing experience.
