Depart Fisherman’s Wharf

Our guide meets you at our departure location (Fisherman’s Wharf Sign). After a brief roll call, we board the bus and begin our adventure. Our first stops include all the most famous neighborhoods in San Francisco!

Explore San Francisco neighborhoods and landmarks

Immerse yourself into San Francisco by visiting all of the iconic sites and neighborhoods that create this unique and amazing city. From exploring the Palace of Fine Arts to getting that perfect photo of the Golden Gate Bridge there is so much to soak in while your guide gives you the rich history and stories that created these landmarks.

Do I need to reserve my Muir Woods ticket online?

No. If you’re joining one of our Muir Woods tours where the park entrance fee is not included, there’s no need to reserve tickets in advance through the Muir Woods website. Our tour vehicles have authorized access to Muir Woods, and all guests purchase their entrance tickets upon arrival at the park. Your guide will explain the process and make it quick and easy.

Purchasing your ticket at the entrance does not delay the tour, as this is part of the normal check-in process for all guests.

What Are the Muir Woods Entrance Fees?

Adults (16+): $15

Children (15 and under): Free

The National Park Service also offers free admission for eligible visitors, including:

– Military members with a valid America the Beautiful Military Pass
– Access Pass holders
– Other National Park pass holders, where applicable

Please bring any qualifying pass or ID with you if you plan to use one.

What Payment Methods Are Accepted at Muir Woods?

Credit and debit cards are recommended. Cash acceptance may vary, so we recommend bringing a card.

Where do we meet?

Our tours start at the Fisherman’s Wharf sign at the corner of Taylor Street and Jefferson Street. It’s easy to find and centrally located.

Where is the drop-off location?

Day 1: We will drop you off at Alcatraz to enjoy your Alcatraz tour.

Day 2: We will drop you off at the same location you were picked up, Fisherman’s Wharf Sign (2820 Taylor St, San Francisco) at approximately 5:30pm.

How long is the tour?

Day 1: 8 AM to 5 PM
Day 2: 9 AM to 5:30 PM

Are Bathroom Breaks Available During the Tour?

Yes, there will be bathroom breaks throughout the tour. For your convenience, we also recommend using the restroom before arriving at the meeting point to ensure a smooth and comfortable start to your day!

What should I wear and bring with me for this tour?

San Francisco’s weather can be unpredictable, so we recommend dressing in layers, including warmer clothes like pants and a jacket. Comfortable walking shoes are a must to fully enjoy the day’s adventures!

Additionally, we recommend bringing money for Muir Woods and lunch.

Napa & Sonoma are typically much warmer than San Francisco. We recommend bringing a hat, shorts, and sunglasses.

Make sure to bring your valid ID. The legal drinking age in the United States is 21 years.

Where can I eat in Sausalito?

There are many places to eat in Sausalito! We personally love Venice Gourmet Deli for a nice sandwich with a bay view. Explore this list of Sausalito restaurants.

Do I have to pay to enter Muir Woods?

While we will take care of the parking fees for Muir Woods, it will be up to each guest to pay the $15 entrance fee to enter the park (16 years and older). This fee can be waived if:

What does the Official Alcatraz Island visit include?

The visit includes round-trip ferry and the 90-minute audio tour of the island. You can also see additional exhibits on the island as well.

How long is the Alcatraz Tour?

We find most of our visitors spend 2.5-3 hours during their stay.

What can i bring to Alcatraz?

Strollers and personal bags are allowed. Please note you can not bring luggage into Alcatraz.

What is Sonoma Square?

Located in the heart of Sonoma Valley, historic Sonoma Square offers an abundant choice of options for lunch and leisure. Here, you can stroll through the charming courtyards and meandering alleyways, exploring your lunch break however you wish. There are countless cafes and restaurants to choose from, whether you’d like to enjoy a sit-down meal at a Michelin-featured restaurant (reservations recommended) or grab a bottle of wine for a picnic lunch. We’ve even put together a self-guided walking food tour to savor the ample variety of eats, and there’s plenty of free time if you’d like to add-on a third wine tasting to your day. With dozens of tasting rooms to choose from, you can sample wines from Petite Sirah to Sauvignon Blanc and everything in between. In addition to eateries and tasting rooms, Sonoma Square is home to many charming boutique shops, art galleries, and museums to explore, allowing you to take in all that Wine Country has to offer.

Where can I enjoy wine tasting in Sonoma Square?

You will have two hours to enjoy Sonoma Square for lunch, with the opportunity to choose a third wine tasting option (own expense) from dozens of tasting rooms.

We recommend Pangloss Cellars at 35 East Napa Street (by prior reservation, book here) in Sonoma Square. Tastings are available by prior reservation only with appointment times at 10:00, 12:30, 2:15, 4:00 with reservations lasting 90 minutes. They are unable to hold reservation slots open, but people who are planning in advance can make a reservation online for 12:30 and could be done at 1:50 in order to walk across the street and meet the bus. Guests can choose between a $30 tasting or a $50 tasting. A different pricing structure is available for groups of 6+.

Should we eat breakfast before the tour?

We highly recommend you have breakfast before the tour.

How long do we spend at each of the wineries?

The wine tasting experience lengths may vary, however most are approximately one hour in duration, giving you plenty of time to sample the wines and learn about the winemaking processes and history.

Are vegetarian or gluten-free options available?

Yes, many of the restaurants offer vegetarian and/or gluten-free selections, so you should be able to find options that meet your dietary needs easily

Can we leave our driver a tip?

Tips are very much appreciated. It is customary to offer a gift of 15-20% for your guide if you had a great day on your tour!

Can we eat and drink on the bus?

Yes, you may eat and drink on the bus. All we ask is that you drink responsibly and avoid red wine.

What is your Cancellation Policy?

Cancel for a full refund up to 4 days before your scheduled tour. Cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled tour for a refund, minus the cost of the Alcatraz ticket.

I had the best time with Trevor on our bespoke small group tour through the city and into Muir Woods. I have been to SF a few times, but none as good as my first time in summer 2016, which was also my first time in CA. I travelled with a friend who was from the Bay and,, seeing the city through her eyes, those of a child in the 70s to a young adult in the 90s, I quickly appreciated how quirky, dynamic, and unique the city and Bay Area eco-system is. Since then, bad press and outright ridiculous housing shortages for a "progressive/human-first" city, admittedly began to alter my perception of the city. I returned this year, to try and reintroduce myself to the city I used to love. I flew up from LA and did Dylan's tours with Trevor - who was born and bred in SF. He guided us through Nob Hill, Grant Street, and the Pacific Heights mansions, which are historic areas quintessential to the city's gold-rush and immigration past. They are also area's I had never much seen before due to the steep hills protecting them for the likes of pedestrian tourists. After this, we headed through the Presidio and into Muir Woods. Doing this trip with Trevor felt like I was growing in the city in the 90s in the tour bus. It's hard to believe it, but it recreated the feelings I had toward the city on my initial trip. Seeing the transition from the chaos and hills of the city, to the span of the bridge across the Golden Gate, into the rolling hills of Marin, before exploring the deep solitude of Muir Woods was a journey like out of a fairytale. Thank you for re-adjusting the lenses for which I saw the city again!

Verified Well organised, friendly, good value double up tour. We had a great day that was guided by Laura. She was very personable and pointed out so many places of interest. She added in lots of anecdotes. We were in a small open air van and we really enjoyed that aspect of the tour. Hop on hop off tours are too onerous for me as I have some mobility issues. We did stop and get out at the Golden Gate Bridge and the Palace of fine arts. Lovely short stops! The pick up arrangements were clear and we were let out at the ferry landing for the Alcatraz ferry. Not everyone did that part of the tour but we were glad we did. Once at Alcatraz you get an audio set and it’s great. An added bonus for me was that a little trolley was available for anyone with mobility issues to take me up to the top to start the cell tour. It’s a steep climb.

Verified Exactly what we wanted! An amazing trip! Exactly what we wanted and Patrick our tour guide was amazing. It’s a short city tour about an hour long, photo stop at Golden Gate Bridge and then onto Muir woods. Beautiful place and 90 minutes was just enough time to do just over an hour of walking (we went to bridge three and back) and then spent some time in the gift shop and cafe. There’s an option to get off in Sausalito on the way back if you want to explore more but we stayed on the shuttle and were taken back to our starting point. Patrick provided lots of great facts, jokes and music along the way. Would highly recommend Dylan’s Tours!

Verified Book this tour For this guided tour, you get more than you pay for. Talk about one of the best guided tours I’ve ever been on, this was an excellent experience. We toured the city of San Francisco with Weyland from Dylan Tours and he was very knowledgeable of the city history and culture. I learned so much in 90 minutes. The ride in the van was very comfortable and the van seated about 7 guests. We also stopped along the way for a restroom break. Verified A bit of an odd structure to this tour, because it was summer we did the Alcatraz tour first, if you are interested in the prison you’ll enjoy the tour. So, you get sent a QR code which is your ticket to the island, and it is all self guided, so the tour was for 9.20, and then the next part of the tour starts at 2pm which is the city and muir woods trip. So you have to entertain yourself until 2pm basically, the trip to muir woods was nice, Jules was an enjoyable driver providing us with lots of interesting facts about the area. We stopped at the museum of fine are for a photo and then on the north side of the golden gate bridge for a photo, then to muir woods park for a walk around for 1.5 hours, and then another drive around the city before being dropped off. So there isn’t really a guided tour besides maybe the drive through the city, really what you are paying for is the transportation to these places and then you need to pay $15 to enter the park. Good trip, bit overpriced.

Verified It was a good tour but a few things to consider. South saulito we thought were were going to be able to get out and tour around the area so that is not what we got. If we knew it was just driving thru for the price we paid it was not worth the money. We should have paid for Muir Woods and Alcatraz only but guide does not stay with u in Alcatraz. So the money you pay really is just to drive to Muir Woods. So that was disappointed . Will I pay again for this I would say no

Verified Worth the walk! Britt was a very informative and entertaining tour guide today. He and I were the only people on this tour, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought that he did a great job of explaining so many interesting facts and trivia about San Francisco. You can tell he was born here and knew a lot of information that I did not know but appreciated! It was a wonderful day- I definitely accomplished my steps for the day at 17,890!!!! Worth the walk!!

Verified Dylan provides a good overview of the most famous San Francisco neighborhoods. Recommended restaurants and places to go even told us about carnival which is going on this weekend. A great guide and he kept us on time!

Verified What an incredible experience! Dylan was our host for the day. The tour and conversation was great! Patrick and Dylan got my husband and I a reservation at the Barrel house on Valentine’s Day in Sausalito. Even after we ran 15 mins behind at Muir Woods ( no fault to our tour guide ) the restaurant was still holding our table because they “ they just knew we were coming” Thank you Dylan and Patrick for such a great day! You are our two favorite people in San Francisco!

Verified The post is inaccurate the host informed me over the phone that the tour is actually 4 hours and that they spend about 15 minutes at each of the locations aside from Muir Woods where you will spend an hour. I was told over the phone that I could cancel because the listing is inaccurate but they stopped replying after. You’re better off going to these locations on your own which is what I did. save your money.

Verified the trip to Muir woods was magical and our guide Jeffrey was fun and knowledgeable. I could have used another hour in the woods just to longer and savor the environment but didn't feel rushed - just left wanting more. I loved the photo stops along the way - easiet way to get a great bridge photo! lunch in Sausalito was fun too. great recommendations and good food.

Verified Great deal and value, our guide was knowledgeable of the city and always willing to take photos. Also he was very accommodating to drop us off at the location close to where we were going after the tour, as long as he was passing it. The only thing that was annoying was waiting for people who were late. It tells you to arrive 20-15 mins before the tour but we still had to wait for 2 people and then wait for people again on each stop, not the driver’s fault, just need to be more strict with time cus it’s not fair for many of us.

Was very smooth from pick up to drop off. We landed in the city very early am and debated cancelling the tour but were glad we didn’t. Patrick kept the ride lively as well. Would recommend to anyone traveling to San Francisco.

recommendsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Facebook. I went on a tour with Sully and cannot recommend it enough. Sully was extremely knowledgeable and funny. He had so much to tell us about San Francisco. We went to so many places and I feel like the tour covered just enough. The bus was clean and we were offered water and a snack upon the start of the tour. Muir Woods was my favorite part of the trip. I think anyone visiting should book one of the bus tours! You won’t regret it!
