Dylan’s Famous Tour – #1 Rated San Francisco Tour

Explore all of San Francisco’s most famous neighborhoods. Enjoy a relaxing lunch in the charming, waterfront town of Sausalito. Then take a short ride with us up to Muir Woods National Monument, and experience one of the last remaining, most breathtaking coastal redwood forests in the world!

This San Francisco tour is our most popular and top-rated, because you get to see our beautiful City by the Bay in a way that only a born and raised local can show you. This is also the premier way to ensure you cover all your “must do’s” while you’re in town.

If you’re only in town for a short time and want to see as much as possible, this is the most comfortable and comprehensive tour you’ll find!

For even more, book our 2nd-Day Alcatraz add-on as well! Tour the infamous former federal prison which was once home to Al Capone, Robert “The Birdman” Stroud and George “Machine Gun” Kelley! Please note the Alcatraz add-on must be booked 4-days in advance.

We cover a lot of ground on this 7 hour tour. If you only have a few hours or prefer a shorter version, check out our “Dylan’s Almost Famous Tour”.

How We’re Different

We are not a big bus company! It’s very common to see large hop-on, hop-off buses around town, but we take a much more personal approach. Our guides not only have intimate knowledge and unmatched enthusiasm for our city, but we also use specialized minibuses which are built specifically for city tours. We can literally take you where the big buses can’t go.

Our rides have large windows for full view of the city as we conduct the tour. They are air conditioned, with plenty of standing room and seating for everyone. We stop several times and provide lots of photo opportunities. This is truly the way to enjoy an unforgettable experience in San Francisco!

Alcatraz Tour Add-On

After taking your Famous Tour on the 1st Day, Add-On Alcatraz to your 2nd day for a morning tour of Alcatraz! However, there is only one Alcatraz tour company (Alcatraz Cruises) that is allowed to take you directly onto the island for an official tour. Tickets onto Alcatraz island are in high demand and often sold out in advance. Please exercise caution and avoid purchasing any re-sell tickets. These re-sell tickets are illegal!

FAQ: Here are the Most Frequently Asked Questions

What is your refund policy?

What if you’re sick or miss your flight? Things happen! Just give us 24 hours notice. If you can’t make your scheduled tour, we’ll happily reschedule with you or give you a 100% refund.

How are your minibuses different from other tour buses?

While the open top, hop-on/hop-off tour buses are plentiful around the city, there are significant advantages to choosing one of Dylan’s minibus tours. As opposed to seating 60-70 people at a time, we tour with a maximum of 22 people. We’ve found that a smaller group creates a much more friendly and personal experience.

Instead of an open air bus, we’re fully air-conditioned! We have plenty of both standing room and comfortable seating for everyone on the bus. Due to the smaller size of our minibuses, we can also go into many areas of town that are inaccessible to the traditional very large tour buses.

Can I make changes to my reservation?

There are many websites across the internet where you can book a tour with us. They all have different terms. When possible, we request that you book directly here on our website. This enables us to not only provide you the best pricing available, but it also enables us to provide a much more customized level of service. Just give us 24 hours notice, and it’s our pleasure to accommodate any possible changes to your tour.

Why Choose Dylan's Minibus Tours?

1. Small Groups:
With Dylan’s, you aren’t just a number. Our minibuses are the perfect size to make sure you are comfortable, well looked-after, and are having FUN!

2. Local Guides:
Each of our tour guides are Bay Area locals who love their city. From in-depth knowledge of SF to the best restaurant recommendations, they are energetic and invested in making each tour special.

3. Great Value:
Our minibus tours are priced to give our guests a tour of the best neighborhoods in San Francisco and over an hour in Muir Woods. We like to think of it as 2 tours in 1!

4. 100% Refund Guarantee:
Change of plans? Feeling under the weather? We are happy to refund your entire tour with 24 hours advance notice.

5. Independently Owned:
We aren’t one of the big bus companies, and it shows. Dylan’s is owned and operated by San Francisco native Dylan David.

6. Your Experience is our Top Priority:
From our convenient meeting location to each stop on your tour, our goal is to make your tour fun and enjoyable. We have thought of the small things so you don’t have to.

Where do we meet for the tour?

Is there a parking garage near the starting point:

Yes, there are several parking garages located near our meeting point.

How does the hotel pick-up work?

Hotel/AirBnB Pick-up:

We are proud to now offer hotel or AirBnB pick-up to any location in the San Francisco area for just $20. We utilize both ride-share and tour bus pick-ups depending on location in San Francisco; please be ready 45-minutes prior to your tour time if you do opt-in for the pick-up option.

Why is it beneficial to book directly on Dylanstours.com ?

1. Emailing or calling you directly to communicate our meeting location, last-minute details and tips about your tour. If you book with a 3rd party, we don’t receive your contact information and may not be able to get ahold of you.

2. Easy cancellations; when booking outside of our website it takes several days to get your money back to you should you need to cancel.

3. Dylan’s employees are here to help. When you book with us, on the web or over the phone, our team is here to help every step of the way – from hotel and restaurant recommendations to the best way to get to San Francisco from the airport.

4. The ability to keep our prices fair; when you book outside of our website we pay a 20% commission and therefore have to increase the cost of our tours.

Which minibus tour should I take?

A day In The Bay Tour (10 hours) – Our official Alcatraz Tour. In the morning, head up to Muir Woods to get your day started off with the beautiful redwoods. After coming back across the Golden Gate Bridge you will explore some of our favorite neighborhoods in San Francisco. You will then be dropped off near Pier 33 in the afternoon for the Alcatraz ferry and audio tour. We suggest this tour to those who only have one full day in the city.

What is Muir Woods and Sausalito?

Muir Woods:

Muir Woods National Monument is located 20 minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge and is home to some of the oldest and tallest living trees in the world.

This popular destination is part of the United States National Park service and is considered to be one of the most peaceful destinations in the Bay Area. We consider it to be one of the top highlights of the Dylan’s Famous Tour + Muir Woods and our City Highlight Tour + Muir Woods + Alcatraz.

Sausalito:

Located just across the Golden Gate Bridge, this artistic enclave has the setting and beauty of a European, mediterranean town. For both our Dylan’s Famous and Dylan’s Famous Tour + Muir Woods, you will have the opportunity to enjoy your lunch on the picturesque waterfront, with views of the San Francisco Bay.
