What to Expect

We’ll meet you outside your San Francisco hotel or apartment rental at your chosen tour time. Our guide will be wearing a Dylan’s Tours shirt to help you spot them easily.

After a brief introduction, we’ll board the bus or E-tuk and travel to our first stop. Over the next several hours you’ll be treated to stories about the neighborhoods, diversity, and geography of San Francisco. We will exit the bus at several stops for photo opportunities and exploration of the area. A lunch stop is suggested in Sausalito (minibus tours) or at one of our favorite places here in the city (E-Tuk and E-Bike tours). We wouldn’t want you leaving San Francisco without spending over an hour with the beautiful redwoods in Muir Woods National Park as well! (minibus tours).

At the end of our amazing adventure, we’ll drop you off wherever you’d like in the city.

Here are the sites that we suggest seeing during your tour:

Boasting the largest Chinatown in the United States, this 24-block mecca is bustling with energy, amazing food, and unique and colorful shops that give this area its charm.

North Beach

Voted as one of the USA’s “ten great neighborhoods”, North Beach is best known as the home of Little Italy. From delicious restaurants to authentic sidewalk cafes and bakeries, you will feel the charm of San Francisco as soon as you arrive.

City Hall

This beautiful Beaux-Arts monument epitomizes the high-minded American renaissance of the late 18th and early 19th century. The site of Joe Dimaggio and Marilyn Monroe’s marriage in 1954.

Twin Peaks

Featuring a panoramic view of all of San Francisco, Twin Peaks offers ones of the best perspectives of the downtown skyline, surrounding hills and the vistas of the Bay. An absolute must-see!

Haight Ashbury

The origin of the hippie culture and the birth place of the “Summer of Love.” From the stunning Painted Ladies to the homes of music’s favorite 60’s bands, this district started the counter-culture movement across the USA.

The Mission

Known for its prominent and colorful mural installations, delicious food, and vibrant art and music scene, The Mission embodies the culture of old and new San Francisco.

Pacific Heights
Offering one of the most scenic outlooks in all of Northern California, Pacific Heights is home to Billionaire’s Row, featuring the estates of politicians, tech titans and other San Francisco celebrities (includes Mrs. Doubtfire house!)

Former military base, now a beautiful park that includes Crissy Field, Fort Point, Lucasfilm’s (George Lucas) headquarters and the Walt Disney Museum.

Golden Gate Bridge

Declared “one of the 10 wonders of the modern world,” the Golden Gate Bridge not only one of the most recognized symbols of San Francisco, but one of the most photographed sites in the world. Simply stunning!

Muir Woods (minibus)

Muir Woods National Redwood Park is home to some of the oldest and most beautiful trees in the world. Featuring gorgeous walking trails and striking scenery, many consider this stop to be the highlight of their trip.

Marin Headlands (minibus)

Located just north of San Francisco, Marin Headlands offers an incomparable view of the peninsula. Gaze over the Golden Gate Bridge across the Bay over San Francisco, and make sure to ask your guide to get your photo!

 Sausalito (minibus)
Located just across the Golden Gate Bridge, this artistic enclave has the setting and beauty of a european mediterranean town. Enjoy your lunch on the San Francisco Bay!

Lombard Street (E-Tuks)

San Francisco’s most infamous street!

Have questions? Here's the most frequently asked.

Electric Tuk-Tuks (E-Tuks) are auto rickshaws often seen in Asia.  These vehicles are perfect for our adventurous visitors who want to see the city in a unique and exciting way.  The name Tuk-Tuk is onomatopoeic, mimicking the sound of a small (often two-cycle) engine. An equivalent English term would be “putt-putt.” Other than being fun to ride, it’s eco-friendly as well!

How many people do the E-Tuks hold?

Our E-Tuks are designed to carry 6 people.

Where can the E-Tuks go?

They are limited to areas that have a 35 MPH maximum (no highways or freeways) They are perfect for those Chinatown alleyways and hills up to Coit Tower and down Lombard Street.

An electric bike, also known as an e-bike, is a bicycle with a battery and a motor.

Do you have to pedal on an e-bike?

What makes the e-bike great is that you are welcome to pedal normally, or you can use the throttle, located on the right handlebar, to help propel you along. Whether you are in the mood to get some exercise or just want to sit back and relax, the bike empowers you to get up (and down) the hills of San Francisco with ease!

Bottom line: Our e-bikes make for a really easy, enjoyable and exhilarating tour.

What is the weight capacity?

The weight capacity of our e-bikes is 250 pounds.

Muir Woods:

Muir Woods National Monument is located 20 minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge and is home to some of the oldest and tallest living trees in the world.

This popular destination is part of the United States National Park service and is considered to be one of the most peaceful destinations in the Bay Area. We consider it to be one of the top highlights of the Dylan’s Famous Tour and A Day in the Bay tours.

Located just across the Golden Gate Bridge, this artistic enclave has the setting and beauty of a European, mediterranean town. For both our Dylan’s Famous and A Day in the Bay Tours, you will enjoy your lunch on the picturesque waterfront, enjoying views of the San Francisco Bay.

Yes! The E-Tuks are a lot of fun to ride and we think they are the perfect outing for a family (who may not want to spend 6-hours in a minibus with a little one).

Our minibuses are able to accommodate folding wheelchairs only.

Do We Have to Walk?

Our mini-bus tours alternate between sitting and brief walking. We stop a minimum of five to six times per tour and although we encourage getting off the bus for photos and exploration, you are more than welcome to stay on the bus if you choose.

"Best City Tour Ever! We booked a private tour for 8 people. John happily customized our tour for us and added a few extra stops not included in the itinerary. We have taken many city tours in the US and Europe and this tour was by far the best tour that we have been on."
