Cell service at Muir Woods is very limited to non-existent. Once you’re inside the park, especially on the trails, you’ll likely lose signal completely. It’s best to download any maps, tickets, or important info ahead of time. If you’re meeting someone or taking a tour, make sure plans are confirmed before entering the park.

RhonaKeymasterVisit midweek instead of weekends, and aim for morning tastings. Smaller wineries and off-the-beaten-path spots like Glen Ellen or Carneros are less crowded.
RhonaKeymasterMost do. They can ship to many U.S. states, and they’ll handle the packaging. International shipping is more limited, so ask before buying.
RhonaKeymasterYes, winter is quieter, cheaper, and less crowded. The vineyards are bare, but the tasting rooms are cozy. Dress warmly—mornings and evenings are chilly.
RhonaKeymasterIt’s usually sunnier and warmer than San Francisco, especially in the afternoons. Bring a light layer, but expect clearer skies if it’s foggy in the city.
RhonaKeymasterYes, the Sausalito Art Festival is one of the best-known, held over Labor Day weekend. Other seasonal events include farmers markets, outdoor concerts, and boat parades.
