Bus Tours from San Francisco: Dylan’s Famous Tour

Posted on April 17, 2018 |

Here at Dylan’s Tours, we offer a variety of great ways to explore San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area, but our mini-bus tour of the city, Sausalito, and Muir Woods is our most popular tour package. This is called Dylan’s Famous Tour, and it’s considered by many to be the best way to see the city. If you’re looking for the ultimate bus tour from San Francisco, we think our Famous Tour might be exactly what you’re looking for and we’d like to give you a few reasons why:

Knowledgeable Local Guides

It doesn’t matter where a tour takes you or how comfortable the bus is if the guide doesn’t know their city like the back of their hand. So, local knowledge and a passion for San Francisco are must-have qualities for all of our tour guides! Each of our tour guides is a true San Francisco local. Born and raised. And they took the job as tour guide precisely because they love their city. Feel free to ask your guide any questions you have about the city; you’ll find them to be friendly and incredibly knowledgeable.

Our Minibuses Are Way Better than Larger Bus Tours

Climb aboard and join us on our Dylan’s Famous Tour!

While most tour companies offer tours in big buses, Dylan’s Tours have chosen smaller minibuses as our vehicle of choice because they allow us to go down roads and alleyways the larger buses cannot. In fact, our mini-buses can go anywhere in San Francisco a larger bus can (and quite a few places they can’t). The other benefit of using a minibus on Dylan’s Famous Tour is that it’s small enough for all of our guests to see our guide at the front of the bus and even ask them questions. And our minibuses are also just small enough to stop at several points along the tour for photo ops!

We Tour all of the Most Important Parts of San Francisco

When someone takes a tour of a city they’re visiting, they usually want to see as much of it as possible, hopefully discovering a few places they probably wouldn’t have found on their own. This is why Dylan’s Famous Tour is so… well… famous! In this 7-hour tour (don’t worry, that includes lunch breaks and some walking around the redwoods of Muir Woods), we take our guests to many of the best places in San Francisco, including — but not limited to — the following top San Francisco locations:

Chinatown — San Francisco has the biggest Chinatown in the world and we’re happy to recommend our favorite dim sum restaurants!

North Beach — Also known as “Little Italy”, North Beach is a beautiful part of the city with incredible shops and restaurants.

Our mini-buses can access many of the streets bigger buses can’t

Twin Peaks — Twin Peaks is the perfect photo op as it provides visitors with panoramic views of the San Francisco skyline

The Mission — With beautiful murals and an even better food scene, The Mission is a must-see for anyone new to the city.

Pacific Heights — This is one of the most affluent areas of the city and includes Billionaire’s Row (huge mansions for the city’s richest denizens).

The Castro — This was one of America’s first LGBTQ neighborhood and it has some of the some of most famous gay bars in the country.

Golden Gate Bridge — No tour of San Francisco would be complete without a visit to The Golden Gate Bridge, which is perhaps the most famous, most iconic bridge in the world!

Muir Woods — Here you’ll see some of the biggest, oldest trees in the World. We get out and walk around the woods, giving travelers a chance to stretch their legs.

Lombard Street — Also known as “the Crooked Street”, Lombard Street is perhaps the most famous street in the city because it has so many harsh hairpin turns on it. No tour bus (not even our little mini-buses) are allowed on Lombard Street, but we can drop you off near the bottom of the hill there at the end of your tour. If you are determined to drive down Lombard Street, you can rent a car or take one of our electric tuk tuk tours of San Francisco.

We hope this blog post will inspire a few readers to take Dylan’s Famous Tour; it really is the best way to see San Francisco in a day!
