9:30 AM - 11:00 AM: Explore Alcatraz on your self guided audio tour

Explore the infamous prison at your own pace with the self guided audio tour. Learn about the prison’s historic past including some of its most famous residents including Al Capone and “The Birdman”. This portion takes approximately 1.5 – 2 hours.

11:30 AM - 12:45 PM: Lunch in Fisherman’s Wharf or Little Italy

8:00 AM & 10:00 AM Departures: These tours last approximately 6 hours. During the winter season (November–March), the tour may conclude closer to 5.5 hours

2:00 PM Departure: This streamlined 4-hour tour does not include a stop in Sausalito.

8:00 AM Famous Tour with Muir Woods & Alcatraz: This extended tour is a full 9-hour experience, combining two of San Francisco’s most iconic attractions. This tour can also be broken up in two different days.

What does the Official Alcatraz Island visit include?

The visit includes round-trip ferry and the 90-minute audio tour of the island. You can also see additional exhibits on the island as well. We find most of our visitors spend 2.5-3 hours during their stay.
